Arlene Spiros Academic Scholarship

This $1,500 scholarship will be distributed annually at the rate of $750 a semester to five (5) students who are single parents with dependent children whom they have full or joint custody of. The applicant should be 21 years of age or older with a 3.0 GPA or higher and be majoring in math, engineering, computer technology, healthcare or science (STEM). This award can be used toward textbooks purchased at the MVCC Bookstore for the semester in which the award is received. Note that for one of these awards priority will be given to a student who has been a client of the Crisis Center or experienced domestic violence. Also, two of the recipients will be able to receive up to an $800 scholarship for a dependent child to attend the college’s Children’s Learning Center.
